Honey from Harris Hives is local to Chatham County, NC and is not adulterated in any way. We extract honey once the bees have capped the cells to ensure the honey has the proper moisture content. Our honey is lightly filtered to remove wax and other solids but is not heated or pasteurized like that found in grocery stores-a process that destroys beneficial enzymes. Honey is sold by weight, not volume.
Harris Hives is a member of the North Carolina RealNCHoney program that helps consumers trust that the honey they purchase is produced by honey bees foraging on plants from the fields, woodlands and swamps of North Carolina.
