My journey began after attending a beekeeping class in 2015. I became fascinated by our state insect, the honey bee. I am a small sideliner beekeeper and my goal is to have healthy colonies first and foremost, but I also enjoy helping teach others how to be successful beekeepers. I earned my North Carolina Master Beekeeper certification in 2022 and my Eastern Apiculture Society (EAS) Master Beekeeper certification in 2024.
I help teach beginning beekeeping courses for our association and have been a mentor for several years, including being a mentor for the Hives for Heroes organization which arranges mentors for veterans and first responders.
